Co-financing programme for the provision of public rental housing from 2016 to 2020

NOTICE ON THE CO-FINANCING PROGRAMME FOR THE PROVISION OF PUBLIC RENTAL HOUSING FROM 2016 TO 2020

Notice of closure of the Programme

The Housing Fund of the Republic of Slovenia, a public fund, hereby announces that, in accordance with the provision of point 4 of Chapter I and Chapters IV and V of the Programme for the Co-financing of the Provision of Public Rental in the years from 2016 to 2020 (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, No. 41/2016, 88/2016 and No. 10/2019) (hereinafter: the Programme), the Programme will close on 31 December 2020. Taking into account the above-mentioned fact, the SSRS no longer accepts new applications for this Programme.

The applications for co-financing of projects, which arrived by 31 December 2020 and have already been decided in accordance with the provisions of the Program, are still in progress for the final realisation of the investment project. The Programme remains published on the SSRS website for consultation by contractors who are still participating in the co-financing procedures for projects under the Programme, while the prescribed application form is being removed from the website.

At the same time, we also invite all municipalities and their public funds, as well as other eligible applicants targeted by the Programme, to inform us in writing about planned investments in the construction of public rental housing and housing units, or other or additional forms of housing that have been identified in the municipality/statistical region (such as different communities, intergenerational centres, etc.). SSRS will collect and analyse the responses. The data collected will be used for the adoption of the revised Programme foreseen in the Business Policy of the RS Housing Fund for the period 2021-2025, which is still in the process of adoption by the Founder. Information on the adoption of the Strategy Paper and the Programme will be published on www.ssrs.si.

Information on the implementation of the Programme

The programme was adopted on the basis of the guidelines of the Resolution on the National Housing Programme 2015-2025 (ReNSP15-25) and with the aim and objective of co-financing new public rental housing and housing units in municipalities and statistical regions.

In accordance with the provisions of the Program, EUR 34.6 million was allocated for the co – financing of 12 investment projects in the Central Slovenia, Savinja, Drava, Carinthia and Coastal-Karst statistical regions.

By 2020, 5 projects were completed, with which 81 public rental apartments were acquired, namely in the municipalities of Vojnik, Sveta Ana and Ljubljana. Another 7 projects are being implemented in the municipalities of Ljubljana, Rogaška Slatina, Celje, Slovenske Konjice, Zreče and Koper, where 575 public rental housing will be acquired. With the co-financing of the SSRS from the Programme, 656 new public housing units will be provided in the municipalities.
